Paris Art Week 2025
A great kick off at the Palais de Tokyo
What better way to start than a convivial breakfast altogether at the Tokyo Art Club. We were joined by Guillaume Désanges and Daria de Beauvais to kick off this exciting week and discuss the upcoming projects of the Palais de Tokyo. Shortly after, Naomi Beckwith walked us through her exhibition, delivering fascinating insights on how the French thought has influenced american artists, especially those present in her exhibition.
Philosophical lunch at les Deux Magots
To continue this interesting and pleasant morning, we headed to the café litéraire Les Deux Magots for a lovely lunch in this location full of history and meaning. The café once frequented by Foucault, Simone de Beauvoir, Picasso, and countless other writers and artists, became our own place for a few hours where we all were able to exchange our ideas and new projects. French author and philosopher François Cusset joined us for this lunch. He lived and worked in New York for seven years and has published several influential books on the French Theory. His presentation was remarkably insightful, emphasizing the continued relevance of French thought on contemporary exploration of identity, marginality, and racial issues — subjects that many contemporary artists, including those featured in Noami’s exhibition, are actively engaging with in their work.
VIP preview of Art Basel Paris
A big surprise for this year’s edition of Art Basel Paris was the anticipated exclusive pre-pre-opening on Tuesday afternoon - a first time in the history of the fair! Of course, our International Board members were graciously invited to be amongst the first to witness this second edition of Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais.
Our party at home
Like every year we organized a party at my home to celebrate the art week. About 100 guests, collectors, gallerists, artists, curators and friends shared a joyful moment!
Breakfast and private visit at the Attal collection
After a short night, we met for a intimate breakfast and tour with Jean Gabriel Attal at a brand new space hosting his remarkable collection in the south of Paris. We discovered “Rien ne va plus” their second exhibition ever, gathering works from Miriam Cahn, Mac adams, Dieter Appelt, Victor Burgin, Liam Gillick and others. Shortly before our departure, we could sneak into Mr. Attal’s personal storage where we could admire more works of his extensive collection.
Lunch and tour of the new Snapchat space
For our second stop of the day, we were impressed by the exceptional hospitality at Snapchat’s brand-new headquarters in the heart of Paris. Housed in a remarkable hôtel particulier, the space now serves as Snapchat Inc.’s hub for augmented and virtual reality. The team is developing a wide range of innovative projects with visual artists, museums, musicians, and more — several of which we had the chance to discover through a presentation by Antoine Gilbert, Snapchat’s AR senior manager. After lunch, we wrapped up the visit with an amusing test of their latest generation of augmented-reality glasses.
New Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain
In the afternoon, we made our way to the long-awaited Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain. Situated on Place Royale, just across from the Louvre, the newly opened building—renovated by Jean Nouvel—now showcases Cartier’s extensive contemporary art collection. We had the honor of a private tour led by Grazia Quaroni, the collection’s director. For an hour, we wandered through the galleries and had the privilege of encountering works by major artists such as James Turrell, Sarah Sze, Olga de Amaral, Panamarenko, and many many others…
“Minimal” at Bourse de Commerce
Our final stop brought us to the grandiose Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection, where we were warmly welcomed by its director, Emma Lavigne. A private guide then led us through the remarkable building for a tour of the Minimal exhibition, which brings together—for the first time—more than one hundred major works that trace the movement’s remarkable diversity since the 1960s.
My conclusion
This year’s events in Paris are once again for the books! It is always such a pleasure to organize bespoke events and visits for our group. We hope that those of you present enjoyed it! We are looking forward to see as many of you ext year for our journey to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and AlUla. More information will follow!
My very warmest regards,
